VARIETY – Embankment Films has boarded as sales agent on Sigma Films and Thruline Entertainment’s horror “Hush,” starring Sophie Cookson (“Kingsman: The Secret Service”).

Olaf de Fleur (“Brave Men’s Blood,” “City State”) will direct and Sigma’s Brian Coffey (“The Legend of Barney Thomson,” “Starred Up,” “Citadel”) and Thruline’s Danny Sherman (“The Wild One Hundreds,” “Bathing Flo”) will produce.

The film centers on siblings Jackson and Angela (Cookson), who run a profitable ghostbusting racket, swindling the bereaved with fake detection equipment and phony paranormal visions. Hired to investigate a haunted old foster home, the team uncovers its terrifying past: girls brutally silenced by a sadistic killer. But the very real supernatural terrors are the least of their problems when they discover a far greater evil lurking in the isolated house.

“Hush,” originally a horror novella written by E.M. Blomqvist, was adapted by Ben Ketai (“The Forest,” “The Strangers 2,” “30 Days of Night: Dark Day”s), with revisions by Eva Konstantopoulos.

Icelandic director De Fleur won the Teddy award for best feature at the Berlinale in 2008 for his first film, “The Amazing Truth about Queen Raquela.” His thriller “City State” is being remade as “The Wild One Hundreds” in the U.S. De Fleur is developing an original science fiction thriller called “Revoc” with Mandeville Films and Summit Entertainment.

“Hush” starts shooting in Scotland in October. The pic is supported by Creative Scotland.

COMINGSOONTheWrap brings word today that 20th Century Fox is developing a sequel to the Matthew Vaughn-directed film Kingsman: The Secret Service. No official announcement has been made about the film, but with Vaughn set to direct the reboot of Flash Gordon, it’s possible he may not return to helm the sequel. Vaughn is credited as a co-plotter in the original comic book series, which ironically has yet to publish a second volume.

Based upon the 2012 Icon Comics miniseries by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.

The film stars Academy Award winners Colin Firth and Michael Caine alongside Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Strong and newcomers Taron Egerton, Sofia Boutella and Sophie Cookson.

Scripted by Vaughn and Jane Goldman, Kingsman: The Secret Service has grossed over $401 million at the global box office. The film will debut on Digital HD on May 15 and later on Blu-ray and DVD on June 9.
